This is a small tribute to Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (1886 – 1969), self-taught master architect and product designer. Born Maria Ludwig Michael Mies, he soon renamed himself as part of his rapid transformation from a tradesman’s son to an architect working with Germany's cultural elite — adding “van der” and his mother’s surname “Rohe” (using the Dutch “van der”, because the German form “von” was legally reserved for those with real aristocratic lineage). Yet, he soon became known simply by his surname, Mies. Mies was the last director of the Bauhaus, a ground-breaking German school of modern art, design...

Winner, Wallpaper* Mag’s ‘Most Eloquent Speaker’

Many audio companies would be thrilled if told their loudspeakers played the loudest, the deepest, or sold the most units. But we much prefer elegance to bombast. And so, we feel exceedingly honoured to have won the title, ‘Most Eloquent Speaker’ in Wallpaper* Magazine’s Smart Space Awards 2021, this week. We want to give our most sincere thanks to the brilliant Wallpaper*, and to the esteemed judges. To a small design company this really means a great deal. Loop Design Awards, Lifestyle Product Design winner

We are proud to announce that our range of modular audio products is the Lifestyle Product Design category-winner in the Loop Design Awards 2021. It is a great honour to be recognised in these awards, which from its Lisbon-base are slowly becoming one of Europe’s most prestigious and recognized in the fields of Product Design, Architecture, Interior Design, Landscape Design, and Architectural Photography. The jury panel included renowned designers and architects from all over the world, including representatives from Zaha Hadid Architects, N+P Industrial Design from Germany, and MVRDV Architects from The Netherlands. Exhibiting at 3daysofdesign 2021, Copenhagen

A photo-essay of Sound-Aesthetics’ exhibit at 3daysofdesign 2021, Denmark's premier event in the world design calendar. The event took place between 16-18 September, with exhibits located throughout Copenhagen. Our exhibit was held in a lovely 400-year-old listed building, known as Christian IV 's Brewhouse. This charming brick-building has a storied past, including service as royal fortification, brewery and sculpture museum.
